Rob Callahan Announced Among 2010 Fringe Performers
On February 17th, the performers and companies who would perform in the
2010 Minnesota Fringe Festival were announced. Matt Peiken was on site for
3 Minute Egg, interviewing such local storytelling talents as Cynthia French, Brian Beatty and Rob Callahan. Notably, when Rob's name was read, a lot of people cheered with excitement and anticipation. Also, one dude way in the back shouted expletives.
Idiosynchronicity Features Callahan's Trademark Quirky Storytelling Style
For his debut one man show, Callahan has strung together an hour-long collection of stories that are sometimes autobiographical, often unbelievable, occasionally obvious fictions and, at any given time, various combinations of the above.
Idiosynchronicity is a densely-packed concentration of the style and quirk previously heard on KFAI and Minnesota Public Radio. It
is Callahan as seen on stage at the State Fair, as a performer at Keiran's Word Ninjas and as a guest of the Rockstar Storytellers. It is all the darkness, charm and poignant hilarity for which Callahan has become renowned, which was previously only available in three-to-five minute
bursts, brought together in an intimate and extended storytelling setting.
Idiosynchronicity will debut at the 2010 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Detailed information on the dates and venue are soon to come!
